Now presenting, the University of Washington Men’s Basketball team – the 2008-09 Pacific-10 Conference Champions.  This is UDub’s first outright title since 1953.  The Huskies beat their in-state rival, WSU Cougars, 67-60, in Seattle.

After missing the NCAA tournament the past two seasons, the Huskies have locked up a bid in the NCAA Tourney and have secured the #1 seed in the upcoming Pac-10 Tourney.  After a year that has seen the Seattle sports scene in the dumps, it is great to see a Husky team at a championship-caliber level.  Let’s hope they can ride their current momentum and win the Pac-10 Tourney, land in the NCAA Final Four, or even win the whole thing and become NCAA champions.  Woof, woof!
