The first Seattle savior was Kevin Durant.  You all know where he is.   The second Seattle savior was LB Aaron Curry.  He was released a few years ago and the Raiders picked him up.  The third Seattle savior is the Seahawks’ QB Russell Wilson.

On this day, January 6, 2013, he led Seattle to a 24-14 victory over the Washington Redskins in the NFL NFC wildcard playoff game.  It was Seattle’s first road playoff win since 1983.  Amazingly enough, I watched that game in 1983 with my own eyes.

Where the game in 1983 was a “miracle”, since Dolphins were the favorites, current Hall of Famer Dan Marino was their QB, and it was at the Orange Bowl, the current win in 2013 was expected since the Seahawks were the favorites and they had the NFL’s #1 defense coming into the game.

Russell Wilson, the 2012 NFL Draft 3rd Round pick, 75th overall, has a chip on shoulder as those who passed over him in the draft said he was too small to play QB in the NFL.  I’m sure all those naysayers are hiding under their beds as this “short” QB has a game against the Atlanta Falcons next week.
